Cadenza Innovation

We were thrilled to have as our first guest Dr. Christina Lampe-Onnerud, who is the Founder and CEO of Cadenza Innovation, a U.S-headquartered, growth-stage company that designs and manufactures batteries and energy storage systems for the grid, EVs, commercial/industrial applications, and other markets. Christina earned her doctorate in Inorganic Chemistry in Sweden (where she was raised), followed by a post-doctoral Fellowship at MIT. Prior to founding Cadenza in 2012, she was responsible for one of the world's largest battery R&D labs while with Arthur D. Little; founded, scaled globally, and sold battery developer and manufacturer Boston-Power; and served in an executive position at Bridgewater Associates. Christina holds 80+ patents, is on the board of lithium technology company Livent, has long been active in the World Economic Forum, and was recently named as an advisor to Li-bridge, an industry-first, public-private alliance established by the U.S. Department of Energy to accelerate the development of a robust and secure domestic supply chain for lithium-based batteries.

As you'll see, she's an engaging and passionate guest who provides great insights into where we've been and where we're going with battery technology and energy storage. We talk about how to think historically about battery technology, how we should think about large scale batteries, battery safety, its supply chain, and, of course, where energy will be in ten years.
